Uber or a fixed-price private driver for Paris airports
Uber is often cheaper than we are for a Paris airport, especially UberX. What it does not give you is an amount guaranteed before you set off: it publishes averages, and the price of your ride depends on when you order it. Here are the averages we recorded, with their date, alongside our fixed prices, and the cases where each one comes out ahead.
The short answer
- Uber
- cheaper on average with UberX and Comfort; the price varies, child seat not guaranteed
- Private driver
- amount set when you book, the same at any hour; child seat, name board and waiting included
- Uber wins
- alone or as a couple, without children, if a last-minute price swing does not bother you
- A fixed price wins
- for families, groups, busy hours, or when you want the exact figure before you land

What does an Uber to or from CDG cost?
For CDG → Paris, on 12 October 2026 Uber showed these rolling one-month averages: €44 for UberX, €59 for Comfort, €77 for UberXL, €83 for Berline and €84 for Van. The other way, from Paris out to the airport, the Berline and Van averages are slightly higher: €86 for Berline and €89 for Van.
Our E-Class sedan costs €105 and our V-Class van €125, in both directions. Against UberX the gap is wide; against Uber Berline it narrows considerably, and it pays for the child seat, the free waiting time and the certainty of the amount. The trip itself is described on our CDG ↔ Paris fixed-price transfer page.
What does an Uber from Orly cost?
Orly is closer to Paris, and the averages show it: €32 for UberX, €43 for Comfort and €62 for Berline from Orly to Paris, as recorded on 12 October 2026. Our fixed price is €95 by sedan and €115 by van. For one traveller, Uber is clearly cheaper. For a family of five who need child seats, the comparison looks quite different: see our Orly ↔ Paris fixed-price page.
What an "average" means for your ride
A one-month average blends rides of every kind, at every hour. Uber itself states that these figures are not guaranteed. The real amount appears when you order, as you walk off the plane, and may land above or below the average.
Our price works the other way round: it is given before you travel, it depends neither on the hour nor on how busy the airport is, and it already includes tolls, parking and child seats. You know what you will pay before you even board. If the flight is delayed, the price stays put as well: we track the flight and the pick-up moves.
Child seats: not guaranteed on one side, included on the other
As recorded on 12 October 2026, Uber does not guarantee a child seat. Yet in France a child must travel in a suitable restraint up to the age of 10. With us, you give each child's age in your request; the driver brings an infant carrier, child seat or booster and fits it, at no extra cost. Everything about travelling with children is on our family private driver in Paris page.
Uber Van or a guaranteed V-Class
Uber Van averages €84 from CDG to Paris, and UberXL €77. Our van costs €125, more than those averages. What the extra buys: an amount fixed in advance, a named model, a Mercedes V-Class for 7 passengers and 7 bags, and the child seats. Among the van offers we checked on 12 October 2026, none guaranteed the model. The vehicle is described on our Paris 7-seater van with driver page.
Booking, waiting time and cancellation
Uber lets you book a ride from 2 hours to 90 days ahead. Its waiting and cancellation terms are those shown in the app when you order: we do not reproduce them here, because we cannot date them reliably. Check them before you book.
Ours are written down once and for all: a free 60-minute wait counted from landing, with flight tracking, a name board with the passenger's name, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before pick-up.

When to take Uber, when to take a fixed price
Alone or as a couple, no children, little luggage, and if a few euros either way at the moment of ordering do not matter to you: Uber, or the taxi flat fare, will cost you less than we do. We do not claim otherwise. A fixed price earns its place when uncertainty costs more than the difference: children to seat, a whole family to fit into one vehicle, an arrival at a busy hour, or simply wanting to know the exact figure before you leave home. For the comparison with the taxi, see CDG taxi or private driver.
Uber or a private driver: your questions
What does an Uber from Charles de Gaulle to Paris cost?
Uber publishes averages worked out over a rolling month. Recorded on 12 October 2026 for CDG → Paris: €44 for UberX, €59 for Comfort, €83 for Berline, €77 for UberXL and €84 for Van. These are averages, not guaranteed prices: what a given ride costs depends on the moment.
And an Uber from Orly?
Published averages for Orly → Paris, recorded on 12 October 2026: €32 for UberX, €43 for Comfort, €62 for Berline. Our fixed Orly ↔ Paris price is €95 in an E-Class sedan.
Is Uber in Paris cheaper than a taxi for the airport?
On average, UberX is: €44 from CDG against a taxi flat fare of €56 to the Right Bank. Uber Berline is not, at €83 on average. The taxi flat fare has the advantage of being known in advance; the Uber average does not.
Can you get a baby seat in an Uber in Paris?
Uber does not guarantee a child seat (as recorded on 12 October 2026). With us, a seat suited to each child's age is part of the price and fitted by the driver.
Uber Van or a V-Class van: what is the difference?
Price and a guaranteed model. Uber Van averages €84 from CDG to Paris, with no guaranteed price. Our van costs €125, fixed when you book, and it is a Mercedes V-Class named in advance, for 7 passengers and 7 bags.
Can I book an Uber ahead for the airport?
Yes, from 2 hours to 90 days ahead, according to the terms recorded on 12 October 2026. Booking ahead does not turn the average into a fixed price: with us, the amount is settled when you ask and does not move afterwards.
A fixed price for Charles de Gaulle or Orly
