Family of 6 or 7 at CDG: one van or two taxis, which costs less?
The short answer
Two flat-rate taxis cost €112 to the Right Bank at the basic flat rate, €126 booked in advance, and €130 to €144 to the Left Bank. The guaranteed V-Class van costs €125 for seven passengers.
The van sits between the two: €13 more than two taxis at the basic flat rate to the Right Bank, €1 less than two taxis booked in advance. What the price does not say: one vehicle and one driver for the whole group.

The sums, bank by bank, with and without booking ahead
The taxi flat rate is set per ride; the decree lets a taxi add €4 for an immediate booking, which the “basic flat rate” leaves out. Seven travellers need two cars, so two flat rates: €56 each to the Right Bank, €65 to the Left Bank. The decree allows €7 more per taxi booked in advance. With four people in one and three in the other, the surcharge from the fifth passenger applies to neither.
The van is charged once, for the whole vehicle, in either direction.

Beyond the price: what you are buying
The E-Class sedan stops at three passengers and three bags: from four travellers up, the choice lies between the van and several cars. Two taxis mean two drivers, two arrivals to organise and a group that travels apart. A van keeps everyone together; the model is guaranteed, a V-Class, with seven seats and seven bags.
The taxi flat rate says nothing about a meeting point or flight tracking. With us the pick-up follows your real landing time and the 60 minutes of free waiting are counted from touchdown. For a party of seven collecting their luggage together, those minutes matter more than a few euros.
Seven seats, seven people, children included
Each seat may be occupied by one person only: in a seven-seat van, seven travellers, children included, take seven seats, and a child on an adult's lap does not count as a free place. With six or seven, the seat count is settled before the price.
Child seats are brought and fitted by the driver at no extra cost, a suitable seat for each child named in your request, up to the number of seats in the vehicle; give each child's age when you ask for a price. In a taxi, article R412-2 exempts the children carried from the child-seat rule, which does not mean one will be on board.
