RER B or private driver from CDG: what does a family of 4 pay?
The short answer
Four full-fare RER B tickets cost €56: the “Paris Région ↔ Airports” ticket is €14 in 2026 and €7 at the reduced fare, which makes €42 if two of the four travellers qualify.
For four people, a private driver means the guaranteed V-Class van at €125: the E-Class sedan stops at three passengers. The train therefore stays the cheaper option; the car buys the absence of a change of line, not a lower price.

The sums for four people
The “Paris Région ↔ Airports” ticket covers RER B to CDG from anywhere in Île-de-France and is valid for two hours, connections included. It exists only in digital form: a Navigo Easy pass, a phone or a watch. Holders of a monthly or annual Navigo pass need no extra ticket for this trip.
The reduced fare of €7 depends on conditions set by the operator; we do not list them, they are on the RATP website.

Journey time, hours and stations: what the price hides
RER B links central Paris to CDG in about thirty minutes. It runs daily from about 5 am to midnight, with a train every 10 to 20 minutes. By car, allow about forty minutes between the airport and Paris, and about an hour by public transport door to door: the difference in duration is about twenty minutes, the real gap is in the changes of line.
At CDG, RER B serves two stations: “Airport CDG 1” (terminals 1 and 3) and “Airport CDG 2” (terminal 2 and the high-speed rail station). From CDG 2 station, allow about 10 minutes on foot to halls 2C, 2D, 2E and 2F, and about 15 to 2A and 2B. The free CDGVAL automatic shuttle links the stations and terminals.
A family of four, suitcases and a late landing
Four tickets at the same fare means four people stepping off the train with their bags at each change, often with stairs. With young children and a stroller, the sum is no longer only about money.
RER B stops around midnight: after a late flight, passport control and baggage claim included, you can miss it. A private driver tracks your flight, waits 60 minutes from landing, fits the child seats and drops you at the door. That is the service the €125 buys.
